West Morgan East Lawrence Water & Sewer Authority is bidding this job for the installation of approximately 4,300 L.F. of 8” CL. 200 PVC water lines; D.I. fittings, valves, and valve markers; 1,600 L.F. of 8” CL. 200 PVC water lines; D.I. fittings, valves, and valve markers; and all necessary appurtenances in the downtown area of Courtland, Alabama, 35618.

This project is subject to all Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act Requirements.

Piping, fittings, valves, valve boxes, lids, witness posts, locator pads, and fire hydrant assemblies will be provided by the owner.

Work of the Project includes the installation and replacement of water distribution infrastructure to
improve system reliability and service in the City of Reform, Alabama. The work under this Contract includes the Base Bid and Two Additive Bids as detailed Below:

1. Base Bid – 6th Street NW
   • The Base Bid scope includes approximately 3,500 linear feet of 8-inch PVC SDR 21 water
     main and 97 linear feet of 8-inch ductile iron water main (DI CL 350), including installation of
     a gate valve and valve box, air release and fire hydrant assemblies, and connection to the
     existing 6-inch water main using a tapping sleeve, valve, and reducer. Additional work
     includes erosion control, seeding and mulching, and asphalt pavement patching.
2. Additive Bid #1 – 9th Avenue NW
   • Additive Bid #1 involves the installation of approximately 1,386 linear feet of 4-inch PVC SDR
     21 water main, including a 4-inch flush hydrant assembly, a fire hydrant assembly, an air
     release assembly, and eleven (11) water service connection taps. The alternate also includes
     connecting to an existing 6-inch water main, capping an existing 4-inch water main, erosion
     control, and site restoration through seeding and mulching.
3. Additive Bid #2 – 7th Avenue SW
   • Additive Bid #2 includes various service line taps and connections involving both 3/4-inch
     and 2-inch lines. Work includes tapping existing mains, installing new service lines and water
     meters with vaults, relocating a water meter, capping and abandoning existing lines, and
     providing traffic control, erosion control, and seeding and mulching for site restoration.

The rehabilitation of portions of the sanitary sewer system, including liners, new line, manhole replacement, manhole rehabilitation, point repairs, and all necessary appurtenances in Alabaster, Alabama 35007.
